Professor Arumugam Manthiram has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Olin Palladium Award, one of the highest honors awarded by The Electrochemical Society. He will be formally recognized and deliver the award lecture at the 248th ECS Meeting this fall in Chicago, Illinois.
Established in 1950, the Olin Palladium Award honors individuals for distinguished contributions to the fields of electrochemical or corrosion science. Professor Manthiram is being recognized for his pioneering research in electrochemical energy storage, particularly his transformative work over the years on the development and fundamental understanding of battery materials.
With over three decades of impactful research, Professor Manthiram has made fundamental advances in the development and understanding of cathode materials for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, significantly influencing both academia and industry.
